| Poor Kanas |
Just finished chatting with Kanas online and she is very unhappy. If i were her, i will be uber sad.
She has to write this program and after she submitted her assignment, she was told that there is a guy who has the exact same assignment as her. Word for word. Now the professor is wondering if he should submit this case to the discipline board of the university. Kanas is worried about being expelled as its hard to proof that it is indeed her program and not the guy. However, she has a friend that admitted sending Kanas' work to that guy but its still up to the prof to decide if her friend is reliable. Later Kanas will be meeting her Prof for the 3rd time, hops it will be ok.
Another depressing thing, exams are over and most of my friends are partying away, except poor me. Arrghh.. why did i not clear my AFA earlier, shouldnt have kept it to the final sem. I dont want to be slogging away, cramming my brain over some project while the rest are free like a bird! So not fair! Hmmph *stamps feet*
Oh well.. at least I am in a more pleasent situation than Kanas.. okie no more complains Miss Khoo!!! |

Just received a call from some tuition co-ordinator asking if i am keen on taking more students, he was very friendly, so even when i told him curtly that i am not interested (concentrating on this HK drama serial = do not like being disturbed), he still remain cheery and tried to convince me otherwise.
After the show, I thought about it and realised that there are so many unknown people out there that may know my number, especially in this IT age where Internet is both a boom and a bane. For example, I may submit my details to take part in some competition but my info may be circulated beyond the intended parties (such as selling them to telemarketers). Its the same for tuition agency as I do not know exactly how many people actually accessed my data.
Where's my PRIVACY!!!!
Things can get worse, especially if people spread malicious infomation about u and spread your personal data. I personally exprienced it and it sucked.
Many years ago, think when I was 20, I received a call about 2am that made me jumped from the bed. It goes something like this..
caller: are u esther?
me: yah, who are u?? (really sleepy)
caller: oh u do not know who i am, but i've heard all about u
me: huh? who are u?! what about me?
caller: well.. dont shy.. so how much do u charge?
me: charge? what? HEY... who are u?
caller: I read all about u..they said that u r really good, good figure and all. Long hair, big eyes too. You r a student at SMU, think its stated that u r 20...
me: WHAT! well... sorry but i really dont know u. I dont think my figure is good or hair long enough, so can u tell me who are u, if not i am putting the phone down. (i thought was some stupid friend of mine joking with me)
caller: dont like that... just say your price.
.
.
.
. (and this went on for a while)
me: i think u have gotten the wrong person, stop wasting my time!! arrgh!!! (put phone down)
I was thinking that it was a prank call but was feeling unease that he actually knows my name and other details, like where i am studying... shortly after i resumed conversation 2 with the same guy, although i cannot remember was it me who called to question him or he called to apolegize.
caller: err.. sorry... but i guess u r really not selling right?
me: of cos lah! how did u get my number?
caller: ohh... then i think i better tell u that it was from this online forum, (says name but i cannot remember what.. some sun, phoenix or pacific thingy). It was apparently stated that u are very pretty, really good. soo....
me: WHAT!!!! How come? me? what the hell.... (really angry now)
caller: then i think its a mistake right? errr.. sorry but i do not know what's happening too.

. (me trying to pry for info)

Caller: Really sorry that i've disturbed u but u be careful k.
me: ok. bye
After that call, I couldnt sleep for the longest of time. I was really glad that the caller ain some psycho and he was actually really nice at the end as he tried to console me. I received a similar call the next day but this time i just told the guy flatly that its all a mistake and untrue and cut it off b4 he could say anything more.
I asked one of my guy friend what's the forum about and he told me that there is really such a forum and usually people post things about sex and all.. so someone must really hate me to do such a thing. I was appalled and really upset. Who is so evil to do such a thing, dont they know of retribution!!!
I tried to find the forum online but couldnt, so i gave up.
I've gotten so many questions..
why
how
who
when
I didnt managed to get answers although there was a suspect
but thankfully its quite an isolated case and no more weirdos calling me asking for special services.
Once again.. where's my privacy!
There are other occurances where i received unknown calls but from telemarketers.
I am more careful about disclosing my info.
Guess that I am not the only victim of malicious acts.

| its not always easy to blog |
I am feeling the need to blog today but I've no idea about what.
Should i tell all about my 1st exprience with kua sha
or should i talk about my Penang trip and my spoid camera
or my thoughts and feelings about coming to the end of my uni life
or simply to wish an old friend "happy birthday"
I really dont know.
U see... my kua sha or scrapping (dont sure if this is the english name) exprience is interesting for me but i have no picts to show my bruised and battered back.
Penang trip... may jus bored u guys cos i will be just narrating my time there n it wasnt the most exciting thing
If i am to talk about my uni life.. it will be a long post. Too sentimental, lets keep it for another time.
As for my old friend... it will just make me wonder even more why are we not talking anymore.
Blogging is so tough.
So my decision?
Guess go n sleep, and also try to start studying for the coming exams. |
