Its Thursday... my favourite day of the week in HK because:
1) My last class of the week is on Thurs.. to be precise.. thursday morning! Which means my weekend starts from Thursday 1230pm. Cos of long wkend, I can: 1.1) Go on short trips (although have not really been on as many as I hoped for. its okies, nov and dec is time to make amends) 1.2) Go out to various attractions in HK and not have to squeeze with the wkend crowd. But then, HK is always crowded. Sorry only can think of 2 reasons at this moment but generally I feel relax on thurs as I know that I have fri, sat n sun to finish any tasks that are due the following week, so no rush and able to take the day of, and if I am going anywhere, thur represents the start of the adventure.
2) Ladies Nite at Lan Kwai Fang...which is good if i decides to go for a boogie. Do not know why but I actually club very little in HK, even though its supposed have a vibrant clubbing scene... mmm.. tink age is catching up at me. I've semi-retired! Although, at this very moment, I kinda regret not going with Debbie because I've stayed in my room for the entire day
oh fine... know that all that I've written was rubbish but I really do not know what to write. Nothing really happened today as I stayed in the entire time. Did my 1.5wk load of clothes, cooked lunch and dinner, surf the net for information regarding Europe, found a new HK drama series to watch, finish my IS report selection form and read the entire Southern China Morning Post (its 2 days old, been busy to read). So you see, my day was boring but i'm fine with it as its nice to time to myself occasionally.
Well, after putting away my clean, nice-smelling clothes, and sweeping the floor, I realised that my room is very neat and nice but I have no idea why my room back in Sg is in a constant mess and flith. This made me realised that my sis is the one thats creating the mess! My bro just informed me that the room that my sis and me share is in total chaos and her things are starting to invade my table. Evidence of me making an effort to be neat and un-cluttered:
well let me share some interesting reads in the papers.. 1) Shanghai Normal University has decreed that low-cut tops and higher education do not mix, thus issuing a new dress code. The new dress code forbids students from revealing bits of breasts, backs or bellies in the calssroom. No slippers and sleaveless garments. Students are also require to wear uniforms (apparently all the the wrong sizes and bad colors) at functions such as morning exercises and flag-raising ceremonies. Thankfully no SMU students went to that University for xchange because we will surely not meet the dress code requirements! Imagine a life with no short skirts, flip flops, halter, hipsters etc etc...the guys will be so bored as there will be nothing to see.
2) Donald Tsang understands game theory and its relevance to HK's politcal situation and display a subtle application of game theory.... he appears eager to show that he can be the bridge between the central govt and the local pro-democrats... it remains to be seen whether Mr Tsang's apparent use of gram theory will maintain a balance among various sectors of the community and secure Legco's support for this soon-to-be unreveiled political reforms. For those that do not know, game theory was developed by Hungarian mathematician John von Neuman as a way to understand strategic interactions and decision-making in terms of the choices made by parties wo were either bargaining or in conflict. In short, game theory is an interdisciplinary appoarch to the study of human behaviour. Therefore, it helps to understand why sometimes its in the player's long-term interest to foster co-operation rather thany to confrontation. Example is the doctrine of mutual assured destruction, a military strategy to deter military wat by showing that the full-scale use of the nuclear weapons by one of two opposing sides will result in destruction of both. Actually, I included this in my blog to serve as a reminder to myself. I tend to be a little hot-headed and capable of using spiteful words, in short, totally capable of being a tyrant and a bitch. I am no pacifist by nature, so have to remind myself that by being confrontational isn't always the best thing to do. Hey but this doesn't mean I am a pushover... wahahaha. Ohh.. just for your information, 11 years ago, the Nobel prize in economics was shared by 3 game theorists, including John Nash who claims that was his most 'trivial work'. Initially, game theory was one subject I am hoping to take on exchange, but sadly CityU doesnt offer.
Think that I better stop this blog entry... its just utter rubbish.. mind malfunctioning.
